Xbox One News: Xbox One Battery Charger Recalled For Burn Hazard
Battery chargers for Xbox One video game controllers have been recalled, according to the Consumer Product safety Commission. More than 100,000 Energizer battery chargers for Xbox One controllers have been recalled over a burn hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the boost Xbox One 2X smart Chargers can overheat, posing the hazard.
The product being recalled is the “Energizer Xbox one 2x Smart Charge” and is used to charge two Xbox one video game controllers. There have been two dozen reports of overheating. The chargers hold up to two Xbox One Controllers.
They say the battery chargers can overheat and damage the Xbox One video game controller, affectation a burn hazard to consumers.

The company says they have gotten 24 reports of the chargers overheating and deforming the charger’s plastic cover.
They say there are 6 reports of chargers emitting a burning odor, but no injuries have been reported.
No injuries have been reported, according to the commission.
Consumers are urged to contact performance Designed Products for a full refund.
The manufacturer, performance designed products LLC, has received 24 U.S. reports of the chargers overheating and deforming its plastic cover and six reports of the chargers emitting a burning odor. No injuries have been reported, according to the alert.
The chargers, manufactured in china, were sold in the U.S. between Feb.2016 and Feb.2017 at Best Buy, GameStop and online for about $40, according to the CPSC.
