Apple’s biggest update to iOS is now available for existing devices. iOS 10 can be downloaded from the setting page on compatible iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices. If you’ve not got it just yet, don’t panic, it should appear on your iPhone or iPad soon.
It’s biggest update to Apple’s Mobile OS, with a Siri digital assistant fix and a new iMessage interface that integrates stickers, apps, and games.
Now for Mac users Apple is enabling a Universal Clipboard on iOS 10, so you can copy text or images from your iPhone and paste them on your Mac without the need for any third party apps. Apple is also allows you to lift the phone from your pocket or a desk to see the lock screen and notifications.
How to download:
When the time comes, on your Apple device you’ll get a notification.
When you starting the download, you’ll need to have at least 1GB of storage space on your device, and if in case anything goes wrong, it’s best to back up your data.
You can do this by going to Settings > iCloud > Backup, and checking whether the iCloud Backup tab is switched on.
If it has been a while, tap “Back Up Now” to get your latest data into iCloud. This will only work while you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network.
You can also back up your data through iTunes, by plugging in your iPhone into your home PC or Mac, and click on the “Back Up Now”.
For that you need to check the speed of your internet connection. If there is Wi-Fi connection that is best for the back up your data.
Then, you can start downloading the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Download and Install.
Once the iOS 10 package is downloaded, an alert box will pop up giving you the Option to install now or later.
Download and install iOS 10 from iTunes:
To download and install iOS 10, you should see a message that an update is available. You can also download and install iOS 10 through iTunes, which is good choice if you do not have a reliable wireless connection.
To update to iOS 10 through iTunes, at least you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your PC or Mac. Now let’s connect your device to your computer and iTunes should open automatically.
iTunes open, select your device then click ‘Summary’ then ‘Check for Update’.
When it does click ‘Download and Update’, the iOS 10 update should appear.
