Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat to roll out on 5 August; here’s all we know so far

Breaking tradition,Google unveiled its upcoming Android OS version (later named Nougat) months before its annual developers conference Google I/O 2016. Since the past many years, the next-generation Android version has been the highlight of the event.

Now the latest buzz suggests that the company is set to break another tradition with Android Nougat. For past some years, a new Android OS has also meant new Nexus smartphones. As the OS makes its debut with the company’s Nexus smartphones.

However, this year, according to tipster Evan Blass, Google will start rolling out Android Noughat alongwith the August security patch.

Google, on its part, has not yet given exact dates as to when it would roll out the official version. Evan Blass, who was earlier known by his Twitter handle @evleaks, also claimed that Google Nexus 5 users will not be eligible to receive the new OS version.

Google’s schedule of rolling out the OS ahead of launch is definitely new and also cements the rumours that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be coming with Android 7.0 Nougat by the time it hits the retail stores.
