Finally, WhatsApp Officially launched WhatsApp Video Calling on Tuesday. Updated WhatsApp with support for video calling for Android and iPhone has officially been released, so you simply need to update the feature to make your first video call.
Today, WhatsApp is announcing video calling to its billion-plus monthly users. Maker of the WhatsApp their goal at WhatsApp has always been to help as many people as possible stay in touch with friends, family, and others they care about.
Some times before, WhatsApp started with messaging and Group Chat, then added voice calling. In the coming days, WhatsApp’s more than one billion users can make video calls across Android, iPhone, and Windows Phone devices.
On Monday, WhatsApp said in a blog post,” We introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren’t enough,” and we want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks.”
WhatsApp already supports a number of standard features for communications apps, including group texting and voice calling. But the company says that video calling has remained one of its top feature requests from users.
If you are already running the latest WhatsApp version and you still don’t see the video calling feature. Follow these steps to sign up for the WhatsApp beta program and enable WhatsApp video calling on Android:
- Open Google Play and search for WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp’s Google Play listing
- Scroll down towards the bottom of the page
- In the section that says Become a beta tester tap on I’M IN
- Confirm on the next screen and wait for a few minutes
- Come back to WhatsApp listing page on Google Play
- You should see an option to Update WhatsApp to beta version
- Update the app
Here’s how to make a video call within WhatsApp:
To place a video call > Open a Chat Window > Click the Phone Icon > Choose the Video Call option in the menu and start talking.
WhatsApp founded in 2009, it’s started out as a basic text-messaging app but last year WhatsApp launched a voice calling feature, now this feature is used to 100 million voice calls every day. The app is also providing privacy and security to users and its ability to provide end-to-end encryption.
WhatsApp Video calling is one of several new additions to WhatsApp’s feature suite in recent weeks.
In October, the company rolled-out a feature that allowed users to draw on images, similar to functionalities found on Snapchat, Instagram and iMessage.
