Facebook Launches Intra-Office ‘Workplace’ Network

Introducing Workplace by Facebook:

UK: On Monday Facebook launched new global product Workplace of its mobile app and website. A Workplace platform it will change intranet, mailbox and other internal communication tools used through businesses worldwide.

The Workplace platform allows employees to work together in real-time and is planned to battle with comparable workplace communication products as well as Microsoft’s Yammer, Salesforce’s Chatter and Slack, Hipchat and Jive,among many other.

Workplace is the latest step by Facebook to take on competitors in universal of social networking and mobile communication.

This concept developed by the Silicon Valley Company, hitherto called “Facebook at Work”, before two years in its London office and has since the product tested on 1,000 companies universal.

The workplace is the first Facebook product launched outside the United States.

Director of Workplace, Julien Codorniou, told AFP,”We combined the things that already exist into a single tool that will allow employees to display a wall of information, like on their private profiles.”

It was developed outer surface of the Facebook ecosystem and remains completely different from the social network- Facebook’s Workplace even using grey as the dominant colour, Instead of Facebook’s different blue.

The service will only allow the transfer of intra-office data, which will stay fully owned by the business.

The Facebook company said, ”We’ve brought the best of Facebook to the workplace – whether it’s basic infrastructure such as News Feed, or the ability to create and share in Groups or via chat, or useful features such as Live, Reactions, Search and Trending posts.”

This means you can communicate with a coworker in a real time all over the world, In a Group host a virtual brainstorm, or track along with your CEO’s presentation on Facebook Live.

Depending on the size of the business, subscribers will pay between one to three Euros per connected employee, while non-governmental organizations and academic institutions will receive the service for free.

Codorniou also said, “At the moment we have 1,000 companies that have already switched to Workplace before the worldwide launch, creating 100,000 groups”.

Workplace does not require people to sign in with their personal accounts and limit News feed- Facebook’s main feature where users can see regular updates from friends and other that they follow-to company announcements, memos and communications.

For Workplace Facebook is building direct sales and also working with professional services firms to get businesses registered.

The top five countries using Workplace so far are Britain, France, India, Norway and the US

The CEO of Francisco Camacho said,”Over 15 months Danone has seen 5,000 employees test the platform, Objective to move its workforce of 100,000 onto the service by the end of the first quarter next year.”

The key advantage of mobile is the first approach for Camacho, now a day’s people are more using mobile, so when they have the platform in their hands, they are being able to connect with each other faster, to share ideas faster and react faster.

Codorniou also added “Our goal is to connect the world, which has to happen during the world of business.”
