OxygenOS Open Beta update arrives for OnePlus 3, 3T
A new OxygenOS Open Beta build for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T is now available to download. Users enroll in the Open Beta Programme can head over to setting to download the update. The over the air update is likely to arrive in the next few days.
The update brings with it several improvement and bug fixes such as Bluetooth improvement, translation improvement, GPS optimisations, Night Mode optimisations, dark theme improvements and so on.
A major issue that was making people’s Smartphone’s reboot whenever they tried to set new wallpaper has also been fixed.
Users can head over to the company’s download page In order to access the download files. If you are not a part of the open Beta Program, all you have to do is install the beta firmware on your device after which you will get the beta channel updates.
The updates included several bug fixes and new features such as improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, expanded screenshots, blur reduction while shooting pictures, a fix for the Instagram swiping bug and a fix for hardware button malfunctions.
Recently, a listing of a OnePlus smartphone with the model number A5000 was spotted on China’s Radio Regulation Authority’s database. This has all but confirmed the fact that the next OnePlus flagship is going to be called the OnePlus 5.
The OnePlus 3 had the model number A3000 and the OnePlus 3T had the model number A3010. Thus, going by the company’s naming standards, a model number of A5000 clearly points towards the name OnePlus 5.
The name OnePlus 4 is being skipped due to the fact that the number 4 in Chinese is considered bad luck as it sounds like the Mandarin Chinese word for death.
The OnePlus 5 is rumoured to be quite a comprehensive update over its predecessor. It is expected to come with 8GB of RAM, the Snapdragon 835 SoC, the Adreno 540 GPU, a 3,000mAh battery and upto 256GB of internal storage
